Our founder, Mannu Joseph, has dedicated more than 20 years of her life to helping people regain their mobility, confidence, and independence as a licensed physical therapist. Throughout her career, she developed a special passion for working with older adults and has spent decades helping geriatric patients overcome pain, recover from injury, prevent falls, and maintain their ability to live independently.
In 2014, Mannu founded Quality Physical Therapy in Deerfield, Illinois, with a vision of providing personalized care that put patients before schedules. After years of working in healthcare systems where clinicians were often rushed from patient to
patient, she wanted to create an environment where every individual received the time, attention, and customized care they deserved. Over the years, she has evaluated and treated thousands of seniors throughout Deerfield and the North Shore, earning the trust of patients and families through her commitment to excellence and results.
As she worked closely with older adults and their families, Mannu noticed a recurring problem. Many patients who were receiving home care had compassionate caregivers, but those caregivers often lacked the professional guidance necessary to maximize safety, mobility, and independence. Families frequently shared stories of generic care plans, inconsistent care, and agencies managed by individuals with limited clinical knowledge of mobility, fall prevention, and functional independence.
Mannu believed there was a better way.
Drawing upon her decades of experience as a physical therapist, she recognized that caregivers perform their best when they are supported by healthcare professionals who understand movement, safety, rehabilitation, and aging. She envisioned a home care model where caregivers would not simply provide assistance, but would work within professionally guided care plans developed with clinical expertise and tailored to each client’s unique needs.
That vision became Angels Hand Home Care.
Founded in 2024, Angels Hand Home Care combines the warmth and compassion of traditional home care with the clinical insight of licensed physical therapists through our partnership with Quality Physical Therapy. Every client begins with a comprehensive evaluation conducted by a physical therapist, either in the comfort of their home or at our Deerfield clinic, depending on their preferences and abilities. The therapist evaluates mobility, strength, balance, fall risk, home safety, and overall functional independence before helping create a personalized care plan.
Unlike traditional agencies, our care plans are reviewed and guided by physical therapists who understand how to keep individuals safe, active, and independent. Caregivers receive professional direction regarding mobility assistance, transfers, fall prevention, home safety recommendations, and strategies that support long-term well-being.
The name Angels Hand reflects the philosophy at the heart of everything we do. Mannu has always believed there is power in a touch. Throughout her career, she has witnessed how a caring hand can restore confidence, provide comfort, inspire hope, and transform lives. We carry that same philosophy into every home we serve.
Today, Angels Hand Home Care proudly serves Deerfield, the North Shore communities, and families throughout Cook, Lake, DuPage, and McHenry counties. Our goal is not simply to provide care.
